Still time to play in the VSN challenges!! You could win a 6-month fan-club membership ;-).
Mary's Northern Flurry challenge is all about using embossing, any type, on our cards.
I used heat embossing on these, and in fact I made 4 of them.
First I cut a sheet of white card into 4 and made my wrinkle free distress background using stormy sky, old paper and pumice stone. When it was dry I stamped the hymn on. First one I used Smokey Grey, but it was too dark so I added gesso to that one to tone it down, and stamped the other three with Tea Dye distress ink.
Then I stamped the foliage from Peaceful Wishes with Iced Spruce and Brushed Corduroy. Edges sponged with Wild Honey and edged with a black marker. I stamped the Printworks sentiment with Versafine Black and embossed with clear EP. Angel die-cuts covered with Versamark and embossed - first one was silver, but I like the gold better and the others are all gold.
Base card stamped with the pine sprig in Iced Spruce, since no colour of plain card I tried looked right and I didn't want to make my panel smaller to mat it.
Yes, these came together in an under an hour once the idea had come together - the last two were very quick indeed. First one a bit slower because of the gesso.
